On Wednesday we left Lagoon Cove early and transited to Port McNeill. It was a lovely and beautiful cruise. We were in Port McNeill about 4 years ago on our other boat, Hideaway. That time we got stuck there for a full week. I just went up to the office and paid for night 3.

The good news is that we’ve gotten a lot done. The laundry, grocery shopping, walking, eating at restaurants. Norm worked on our anchor windless and was very successful. He rebuilt part of our barbecue – very necessary! He’s checked all the fluids. Now we just wait for the wind to lay down.
I check the weather twice a day and it usually takes about 30 minutes. I keep a document with all my findings from the lighthouses, the buoys and the reports on Environment Canada. There’s also the Wave Height Forecast. We thought today was the day we were going to leave Port McNeill and get situated in an anchorage about 30 miles NW of here so that we could depart on Saturday morning at sunrise – to round Cape Caution. One of our friends had left a bit earlier and texted back to say they were turning around – 5′ waves! No Thank You!
There is an entire flotilla here from The Waggoner group. They arrived here last Monday and are also anxious to leave. They are planning on Sunday morning so that means we are too. It’s so nice to have some professional help around for confirmation.

While we’re sitting here we are watching 2 YouTube channels.

Love the sunny blue skies
I do remember Mc Neill…a pretty nice hardware store. No comparison to Ganges though.. decent grocery store. Bear reported near the laundromat but we never saw it. Is that where you could fuel right from your slip??? Anyway, if you had to be stranded, it was a good place to be😉..
Went home yesterday, did laundry & now are back at the boat for cleaning🤪.. oh well, it’s beautiful here today.
Coco & Cathy Ruiz on dock P63 (I think you know them from shrimping)…would like to use your slip for the 4th but you are only showing it as available for lease through June 13th… the marina office said you would have to call to authorize them to lease it. Any chance you could do that once you’re in a comfortable spot and have decent cell service?
Hi Connie, Yes, in Port McNeill you take on diesel right in your slip – how great is that!
I am going on the Port of Anacortes website and will call off our slip until July 6. We have had beautiful weather!
