Sweet Pea is a trawler style boat. Trawlers typically have a single engine, a deep center keel, and are designed to go slow and be efficient. They don’t get up on plane like a ski boat or a cruiser.
Sweet Pea was built in 2006 in Burlington, WA, 15 miles from our home port in Anacortes, WA. She is 40 foot overall in length and weighs about 20,000 pounds. She has one Cummins 360 hp diesel engine. She holds 325 gallons of diesel fuel and 150 gallons of fresh water. We cruise at about 8 MPH (7 knots) and burn a little less than 2 gallons of diesel fuel per hour (4 miles/gallon). We bought her in the summer of 2023.
