Today there is a bad forecast, but we’re sitting here on the boat and it looks beautiful. Of course, we are very sheltered. Many boats have left. It works well for us that Jan gets to make the call on whether we are going or not! We picked up anchor at 5:30 a.m. thinking we could go a short way, turn the corner into the Strait of Georgia where we could assess the situation.
We were anchored by 9:30 a.m. It was very ugly boating, big waves on the nose. But, Norm assured me we were safe and we made it to Blubber Bay. It is ugly here but, VERY calm and we were happy to be anchored! We could not believe how far out these dogs jumped off their dinghy – I’m sure they needed the exercise.

July 28 it was, again, too rough to leave in the morning. There were about 6 boats anchored with us and by 2 pm everyone had left but us. The forecast was getting better and better. The buoys on the Strait of Georgia were showing calming seas. At 3:30 we left and headed to Boho Bay on Lasquetti Island. We cruised down the west side of Texada Island and had a great day. It was so pretty entering this island group and have never been there before. We will definitely go back!
Tomorrow is supposed to be a perfect day. Will it be? How far can we get? Where will we land?
Very good – but long – luckily I had a lot of time!
